This effectively grants Mimikyu a third shield, a massive advantage that far outweighs its drawbacks. It performs best when given shields to delay the debuff. Mimikyu's competitive presence has tempered, but still demands consideration during team building.

Even with Shadow Sneak and middling stats, Mimikyu's head-to-head matchups are head and shoulders above anything else in PvP. Its neutral typing and Ghost/Fairy coverage further help it excel as a generalist. The only thing reducing its score is that it's an unknown commodity - we'll see if it has the team success it does in the sims.
